Large-scale modern warfare for the 360 will be available September 2008. Tom Clancy franchise delivering a radically different approach of RTS tailored specifically to the strengths of a console with an impressive voice-command system. You can control up to 12 units at once. Since each unit is a platoon or company this means you can be controlling hundreds of soldiers at once. They are very easy to group together, for example saying “Create Group” in voice command will create a Team. You can then select this team easily by saying “Red Team…Attack” for example. It’s also very easy to create a group using the controller. Just hold down the Left Trigger and you can select multiple units with the D-Pad. Then A selects groups and Y saves groups. Play single player or co-op in the Skirmish mode. and online ranked matches.

The games demoed were Pangea, whose Brian Greenstone showed off Enigmo and Cro-Mag Rally, a racing game that uses the iPhone itself as the steering wheel, via the accelerometer. Again, the graphics were high-quality, and gameplay was described as “totally playable”
A demo of Sega’s Super Monkey Ball with some 110 stages and all four classic monkeys, including Baby. the graphics look unbelievable compared to anything we’ve seen on a cellphone before — easily DS-quality graphics.

Digital Legends Entertainment demoed “Kroll” a God of War-type game that they had developed in only two weeks that featured graphics somewhere between the DS and PSP. It’ll be ready sometime in September.

With Apple planning on selling over 10 million iPhones this year, that gives developers a platform with the type of reach that any gaming platform would consider a success especially when you consider the Xbox 360 just recently hit the 10 million console milestone. Add to that, developers don’t have to worry about distribution through traditional means since they can simply upload their game to the App Store and allow Apple to handle payment processing and distribution.


Battlefield: Bad Company Demo

In this innovative next-generation shooter get a taste of all the single-player and multiplayer action you can handle with the Battlefield: Bad Company™ demo. Get acquainted with the members of B-Company as you play through a section of the single-player campaign from the opening level Green Acres. The demo also includes a look at the new multiplayer mode, “Gold Rush”.

The demo reveals how the game’s tactical destruction will change the way shooters are played. Explore the air, sea, and land with vehicles like the tank, buggy, boat, and helicopter as you take the battle to new heights on Oasis. Powered by the new Frostbit engine, up to 24 players can join in on a map and destroy practically everything in sight.
Not only that, but if you reach Rank 4 in the demo, you’ll unlock an exclusive in-game weapon. Welcome back to the Battlefield!
